About plastics
Plastic makes our life easier
Plastic's flexibility, strength, lightness and stability make it an ideal packaging material for all kinds of commercial and industrial products. Plastics make our lives easier, safer and more enjoyable but should be recycled to protect the environment.
Plastic packaging does more than keep your food fresh on the shelf. The use of plastics has been growing rapidly and is an important part of our everyday life since 1960. In 2019, 388 million tons of plastics were produced worldwide. Thanks to a unique combination of light weight, durability and protective properties, plastics have become invaluable in communications, construction, pharmaceuticals, food, beverages, agriculture and more.
Plastic is mainly a by-product of various fossil fuels and its production consumes low levels of energy and water. Plastic packaging is lighter and more flexible than other alternatives such as glass and cardboard, minimizing transport costs and the carbon footprint.
More sustainable food and less food waste
Reduced CO2 emissions thanks to transport efficiency
Lightweight, protective and malleable material
